EMPLOYERS

The Opportunities Service is the new name for the University of Lincoln Careers Service. We are here to provide our students with the information, advice and guidance required to produce highly employable graduates in an increasingly competitive labour market. In order to achieve this vision we would like to recruit the assistance of those that know, namely you the employer. In return we offer a range of services that may be of interest, ranging from recruitment, selection, and facilities.

How can we help you?

Below are a range of services that we offer that can help you and your business. If there are any questions or additional services that you require then please contact us and we will endeavour to meet your needs…

*BRAND NEW* Graduate Internship Scheme

The University of Lincoln has been successful in a bid to secure funding for a number of graduate internships across Lincolnshire. The scheme is designed to support key growth sector businesses of any size.  However, if you are a small business of less than 50 employees you will automatically be eligible regardless of sector.  To find out more, click here.

A Gateway Into The University…

We can be an essential point of contact to access the specialist facilities at the university and the specialist knowledge and abilities of our academics and students.

Vacancy Handling…

If you have a vacancy let us do the leg work.  We have unique access to current students and graduates.  If you have a vacancy we advertise online or through targeted emails.

Graduate Positions

To advertise a vacancy to our graduates, please complete the blank graduate vacancy form with the role details or email your advert directly to Lesley O'Donnell.

Alternatively you can submit your vacancy online.  Click here for more details.

Undergraduate Positions

All positions suitable for current students are advertised through our new student Jobshop (part time work, vacation work and work experience opportunities).  If you have a vacancy you would like to advertise, please complete the blank Jobshop vacancy form or email the Jobshop directly.

If you would like to explore other options, such as Knowledge Transfer Partnerships, which is a UK-wide programme that helps businesses and organisations to improve their competitiveness and/or productivity through the use of the knowledge, technology and skills that reside within Higher Education institutions, please see the section on Services to Business.

Employment Advice and Guidance…

Our professionally qualified Opportunities Team can provide you and your company with up to date and accurate advice on student and graduate employment.

Interview Space/Psychometric Testing Facilities…

The university has a range of multi functional rooms that we can offer as interview or psychometric testing facilities.

Conference Facilities…

The university has a wide range of facilities that can be booked for conferences/ meetings. As a central point of contact this is something that as a careers service, we could assist you with.

*Coming Soon – Student Jobshop…

If you have any part time opportunities, we have an abundance of keen, ready, reliable and willing students.  Let our Jobshop fill your vacancies.

Raising Your Profile and Contributing to the Service

There is a range of ways that you can help us to help our students whilst also raising your organisations profile. Below are a few examples, but we are happy to discuss any new and innovative ways that you would like to do this…

Employability Mentoring…

Students have great potential but sometimes need help in recognising this.  This is your chance to influence graduate employability, contribute to the local economy, raise the profile of your company, and potentially nurture your employees of the future.

Events…

Do you want to be involved in any of our wide ranging events on campus or are you holding any events that you would like promoting?   We can offer the opportunity to be involved in such events or advertise events on your behalf, raising the profile of your company.

Presentations…

Want to raise your profile?  We can offer you the opportunity to present your industry, company, and opportunities to students.

Workshops…

If you want to get to know the students better and work with a smaller audience then may be you would prefer to run student workshops.

Student Drop-in Stand…

If you want to meet our students informally, and raise your company's profile we can offer you the opportunity to set up an information stand in a high profile location on campus.

Podcasts and Vidcasts…

We are looking to develop our website and would like to include a series of Podcasts and Vidcasts from employers on topical issues relating to graduate employability. If you feel you could provide some useful information, tips and advice for our undergraduates to succeed, and would be willing to be filmed/ recorded then we would like to hear from you.

Interested…

For more detailed information on any of the above and/ or to arrange a mutually convenient meeting to discuss your company's requirements, please contact:

FAQs

Q. Does it cost to advertise a vacancy or hold a presentation?

A. No. There are no charges for any of the services offered by Opportunities@Lincoln.

Q. I wish to advertise a vacancy but would like Opportunities@Lincoln to collect applications from students on my behalf?

A. No. As we are a small service we are unable to collect applications and therefore all adverts require specific contact details.

Q. How long will it take to respond to my enquiry?  When will my vacancy be live on the website?

A. We deal with all enquiries as quickly as possible, but at certain times of the year we are extremely busy, therefore it may take a few days to reply to your enquiry.

Q. Do you refuse any vacancies/information?

A. Opportunities@Lincoln reserve the right to refuse to advertise any items that we feel are inappropriate for students or graduates.

Q. Do you have a policy statement?

A. We have an individual Service Policy Statement and Opportunities@Lincoln adheres to the AGCAS (Association of Graduate Careers Advisory Services) and the AGR (Association of Graduate Recruiters) guidelines, outlined in their policy documentation.
